Breathing Again:

Finding Peace While Navigating Faith Reconstruction

A gentle companion for anyone learning to breathe again after legalism, religious trauma, or faith deconstruction.

At A Bookstore Near You!

For all of my friends who have done the hard work of deconstruction and are in the messy middle of reconstruction or don't know how to start your reconstruction...

This is the resource for you!

In Breathing Again: Finding Peace While Navigating Faith Reconstruction, I share how I journeyed from a complete faith deconstruction to a healthy faith reconstruction where I can breathe freely in peace and truth.

Each chapter illustrates a different aspect of my journey with actionable steps for you to take on your own journey. At the end of each chapter, you'll find reflections, scripture, and honest prayers.

If you are stuck in this messy middle right now or you know someone who is struggling with their faith, I'm sure you'll find encouragement and hope in the pages of my book.

Why Breathing Again?

My Name is Kristen, and I was a Teenage Pharisee..

For years, I wrestled with my own story — a faith shaped by performance, legalism, and spiritual wounds. Deconstruction wasn’t just a season for me; it was survival.

Writing became my way to process what I couldn’t untangle in my head — and slowly, gently, words became a path toward healing.

Breathing Again grew out of that journey — and now I continue to explore these themes in my faith reconstruction blog and in my work with other writers who are walking similar roads.

Praise for Breathing Again

"I’ve always said that there’s only one way to deconstruct, and that’s your way! I love Kristen Neighbarger’s personal, honest and thorough account of her own deconstruction because it helps the rest of us who are experiencing it feel normal. This is a natural, healthy, and necessary journey we call spiritual growth. If you want another angle on how deconstruction is done, read this book."

--David Hayward, aka, NakedPastor, author of “The Lasting Supper: Letters for Deconstruction”

"For anyone deconstructing and reconstructing their faith, Breathing Again will quite literally be a breath of fresh air. Writing gently with personal stories, Kristen validates her readers, gives them permission to be on their faith journey, and lets them know that they are not alone."

--Christy Lynne Wood: Seeking Jesus in the Awkward Middle Way and author ofReligious Rebels

When it comes to the Christian faith, most of us face the realization that the foundational beliefs we’ve always assumed to be true are not as faultless as we once believed.

By closely examining God’s Word, Kristen guides her readers through the process of deconstructing faulty beliefs and building renewed foundations.

This book is a breath of fresh air for anyone who has felt stifled by the rules of Christianity, hurt by the church, or disillusioned by faith.

A Yearly plan for Purpose

Life as a writer or creative is deeply meaningful—and deeply messy.

We dream big. We start strong. And somewhere between January enthusiasm and real-life exhaustion, most planning systems quietly stop working.

A Yearly Plan with Purpose was created for that reality.

This planner isn’t about doing more or pushing harder. It’s about slowing down long enough to reflect, choose what actually matters, and create goals that fit your real life—not your ideal one.

Inside, you’ll find space to look back with honesty, plan forward with intention, and break big goals into manageable seasons, weeks, and days. You’ll also find reflection prompts that help you notice what’s working, name what’s not, and adjust without guilt or shame.

This is a planner for writers, creatives, and thoughtful humans who want structure without rigidity, progress without pressure, and a planning system that honors both ambition and rest.

You don’t need more discipline.
You need a plan that works with you.

A Yearly Plan with Purpose is an invitation to plan gently, live intentionally, and move forward one honest step at a time.

When Heaven Meets Earth

$9.99/$19.97

Christmas traditions can feel familiar — almost too familiar. We know the manger scene. We know the angels. We know the star.

But sometimes familiarity keeps us from seeing the story for what it really is: shocking, gritty, holy, and human.

In When Heaven Meets Earth, author and coach Kristen Neighbarger takes you deeper into Luke’s account, weaving her own stories of struggle, waiting, healing, and hope with the ancient experiences of Mary, Elizabeth, Joseph, Zechariah, and the Shepherds. You’ll meet women who carried both calling and uncertainty, men who wrestled with doubt, and shepherds who ran toward the miracle while the world slept.

Each entry includes:
✓ A relatable personal narrative
✓ Scripture from Luke 1–2
✓ Theological reflection rooted in context
✓ Gentle questions for processing and healing
✓ A closing prayer for grounding and peace

This devotional isn’t sentimental fluff. It’s real, honest, and deeply encouraging — an invitation to encounter the incarnation as a story for the wounded, wandering, and weary.

If you’re craving a Christmas that feels like good news again, this is for you.
