The Visible Author's Guide to Ethical AI

July 20, 20262 min read

I’ve spent the past several weeks creating something I’m incredibly excited to share with you.

The Visible Author’s Guide to Ethical AI is a four-day virtual workshop designed to help authors use AI ethically, intentionally, and without losing their voice.

This is not a workshop about handing your writing over to ChatGPT or collecting hundreds of prompts you’ll never use. Instead, we’re going to focus on how AI can support your creativity, strengthen your thinking, and help you steward your message more effectively.

Throughout the workshop, we’ll work through four key areas:

Day 1: Mapping Your Author DNA
You’ll identify your calling, values, voice, themes, and the stories that shape your work so AI can better understand who you are as an author.

Day 2: Mapping Your Reader DNA
You’ll develop a deeper understanding of the people you’re called to serve, what they’re carrying, and the transformation your writing is inviting them into.

Day 3: Creating Meaningful Long-Form Content
You’ll learn how to use AI as a thought partner and developmental editor while keeping your own ideas, experiences, and voice at the center of the writing process.

Day 4: Stewarding Your Content Well
You’ll build a sustainable workflow that helps you extend the life of your long-form content without constantly starting from scratch.

By the end of the workshop, you won’t simply have a list of prompts. You’ll have an Author DNA, Reader DNA, Voice Profile, Reader Language Guide, long-form writing process, content stewardship system, and personalized AI workflow you can continue using long after the workshop ends.

This workshop is for you if you’ve been curious about AI but unsure how to use it well, disappointed by content that never quite sounds like you, or overwhelmed by the pressure to keep creating more.

AI should not replace the writer God created you to be. It should help you become a more thoughtful, intentional, and confident steward of the message you’ve been given.

I write in two spaces. A Seat at the Table is where I explore faith, healing, and making room for honesty after it’s been made complicated. Ink & Intention is for writers who want to show up with clarity, discernment, and integrity—especially online.

I’m also the author of Breathing Again and several guided journals, and I work with writers who want thoughtful, grounded support as they find their voice and shape what comes next.

If you’re a writer looking for thoughtful encouragement, practical strategy, and honest conversations about the writing life, you’re also welcome to join us inside The Visible Author Facebook Community.

If something here resonated, you’re welcome to explore more at your own pace. You can find everything in one place at KristenNeighbarger.com.

Kristen Neighbarger

Kristen Neighbarger is a writer, speaker, and faith coach who helps spiritually weary women breathe again. After years of performing, people-pleasing, and pretending she was fine, Kristen found herself unraveling—and slowly rebuilding a faith that could hold both her questions and her hope. Through honest storytelling and practical tools, she creates space for others to wrestle with what they’ve been taught, name what they actually believe, and move forward with gentleness and intention. Whether you’re wandering, wondering, or just worn out, Kristen’s words will remind you: you’re not too much, too late, or too far gone. She’s the author of Breathing Again and the creator of The Soul Seat—a reflection guide for those learning to live, grieve, and believe with honesty. Writing weekly on her blog and social media channels, Kristen helps survivors of church hurt, religious trauma, and spiritual abuse heal and find peace in their faith again. She balances deep dives into scripture with narratives from her own life and church experiences, always connecting with her reader and making faith, the bible, and her teaching relatable and applicable to today’s world.
